I went on a scorp hunt all over CA. I'll post some pics later but I found a field of yellow jackets and some other wasp. It was incredible how many there were...kinda scary too. But the weird one was this really long red one. I tought it was butterfly because of it's size and long wings. Maybe you guys can ID it for me when I get the pictures.

Okay I look forward to seeing the pics! The wasp you saw might of been a P. Carolina. They're large and redish orange colored

Eddy, if this is the same one you posted a picture of on SF, I think it may have been a tarantula hawk.
